Michael Cornell - Founder

ALIGN founder Michael Cornell spent a decade as a principal dancer with BalletMet. He has had original work created for him by the worlds foremost choreographers. Michael has been seen and written about in Dance Magazine, The New York Times, Angeleno, MTV, E Entertainment, and Vogue.com. He began the revolutionary ALIGN 1 workshop in 2011 at a time when most studios and instructors had little interest in the needs of adult beginners. He has taught ballet to Pauly D and Liza Koshy. He can teach you!

Susan Vishmid - Align Faculty

Susan began her early training at the Westside School of Ballet and through scholarships continued her professional training at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School and The Rock School. Susan’s professional ballet career includes Pennsylvania Ballet, Santa Fe Opera, and the San Diego Opera. Susan is the Creative Director and Choreographer of Freaks With Lines® and is also a certified yoga and Pilates instructor.

Rissi Zimmerman - Align Faculty

Rissi Zimmerman currently instructs our beginner workshops and our pointe program. Originally from Germany Rissi is a graduate of the New York City High School for The Performing Arts.

Olga Tozyiakova - Youth Director

Olga Tozyiakova is a master of the Russian Vaganova classical style. She graduated from the Perm ballet School, danced professionally in Russia, and toured as an international guest artist. Olga is the private coach for American Ballet Principal Christine Shevchenko who frequently visits our studio for training. Ms. Tozyiakova inspires incredible dedication and loyalty from her students.

John Clifford - Guest Instructor

John Clifford was a principal dancer, choreographer, and guest artists with New York City Ballet from 1966 – 1980. He is one of the last remaining dancers to have worked extensively with George Balanachine. John founded the original Los Angeles Ballet in 1976. He is currently a highly sought international choreographer, ballet master, and coach.

Indiana Woodward - Guest Instructor

Indiana Woodward is currently a soloist with the New York City Ballet. She began training at an early age with her mother who was a dancer for Roland Petit. Indiana spent much of her youth training in Venice Beach with Yury Grigorovich prior to receiving a scholarship at the School of American Ballet.
