Monica has toured worldwide as a professional tango dancer since an early age. She grew up in Buenos Aires, studying with the most respected legends of tango, Raul Bravo and Pupi Castello. Over 25 years ago, Monica was among the first to introduce tango to Los Angeles, and she remains a foundational element of the Los Angeles tango community, having trained hundreds of dancers. She has also served as the head of the UCLA tango program and as the private coach to Glorya Kaufman.

“I had been dancing tango for years but always felt there was something missing until I met Monica. Until this point, my training often focused more on flashy tango moves as opposed to authentic Argentine fundamentals. Luckily, I stumbled onto classes with Monica and felt like I had landed at ground zero. With Monica, I knew I was as close to the old masters’ style as possible. Personally, for me, it was important to not only understand the steps but also the authentic Argentine style, and my journey with her has been transformative.” – Align Ballet Method founder Michael Cornell
