ALIGN 1
Align Ballet Method course #1. The original adult beginner course that has trained thousands of students since 2011. Many students have gone on to dance en pointe and make ballet training part of their lifestyle. For total adult beginners or those who desire a gentle return to ballet. Align 1 covers all aspects of classical training. Exercises. Terminology. Body Placement. Positions. Musicality. Similar to the training at great ballet company schools but streamlined for adult beginners. Our process is intuitve and easy to follow. At the end of the 6 classes students will have gained the skill to complete a basic ballet barre and simple work in center. Appropriate for all ages and body types. Alignment. 6 classes. 1 hour per week. Same location, instructor, day, time, and fellow students. A simple process. Open to ALL! 1 make up class per series. ALIGN 2
Align 2 is the second and final course in our total adult beginners series. We resume where we left off in ALIGN 1. The ALIGN 2 course immediately follows ALIGN 1 and is scheduled with the same instructor, time, and location. Continue developing your barre technique and begin basic center traveling steps. After completing ALIGN 2 our students are prepared to join our open schedule basic classes. 1 hour per week. Same location, instructor, day, time, and fellow students. A simple process. Open to all. 1 make up class per series. Swapping from a reserved workshop to a different date and time will incure a $20 service fee.
Our basic semester is a closed basic workshop that develops students over a 2- 3 month period.

INTERMEDIATE WORKSHOP
This level is designed to deepen your artistic expression, with combinations evolving into more intricate choreography that emphasizes movement quality, musicality, and dynamics. We advise students to train in our Basic level for 6 to 12 months before advancing to Intermediate. If you can confidently execute multi-part waltzes, allegros, and adagios, you are ready for our Intermediate level.

Jumps & Turns Fundamentals
Develop your dynamics with one of our most popular workshops. This 8 week course with our founder Michael will help you master the challenging aspects of ballet athleticism. Students should have completed ALIGN 2 or dance at a basic level to attend. Not appropriate for total beginners.

INSTRUCTORS
Michael Cornell
Michael is the founder and CEO of the ALIGN Ballet Method. He studied classical ballet at the National Academy of the Arts, renowned for its illustrious community of students and faculty from all over the world. Upon graduation, he embarked on a 10-year long career with BalletMet, where he danced leading roles (including pieces designed for him by elite contemporary choreographers). After retiring from the stage, Michael relocated to Los Angeles and began a career as a certified fitness trainer, which became the early lab for ALIGN. He has taught on-camera segments for celebrities such as Pauly D (MTV’s Jersey Shore), the women of WWE (E!’s Total Divas), and YouTube sensation/actress, Liza Koshy.
Ishaun Jackson-Moaney
Ishaun Jackson-Moaney (Baltimore, MD) is a 2023 graduate of Fordham University/ The Ailey School, holding a BFA in Dance. While growing up in Los Angeles, she began her dance training at The Lula Washington Dance Theatre. During high school, she trained at Align Ballet Method while attending the LA County High School for the Arts. Ishaun has been awarded scholarships for intensives at The Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, Jacob Jonas The Company, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. During her senior year at The Ailey School, Ishaun guested with The Dance Theatre of Harlem to perform Geoffrey Holder’s “Dougla” for their New York City Center Vision Gala.
Camille Goldsborough
Camille Goldsborough is a professional ballerina based in Los Angeles, currently a Soloist with Hollywood Ballet. She has danced with The Los Angeles Ballet and the International Ballet of Ukraine, touring Switzerland, France, and Germany, performing in productions of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.
Originally from Florida, Camille began her training locally before moving at 15 to study at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, with additional training at Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and the Vaganova Academy in Russia.
Camille is the founder of The Prima Club a supportive community and brand for dancers.
Linda Malik
Linda Malik, a writer and former professional ballet dancer based in Los Angeles, brings a rich artistic background to her teaching. Originally from Denmark, her training includes Vaganova and Bournonville, as well as Horton and Limón modern dance techniques. During her 12-year professional career, Linda performed with the Pantomime Theatre (Tivoli Ballet) in Copenhagen before joining the Danish Dance Theater, Denmark’s national contemporary dance company. Linda has pursued her passion for storytelling in the U.S., earning both a B.A. and M.A. in Writing for the Screen. Her projects range from children’s picture books to screenplays and animations, all influenced by her visual storytelling approach. Combining her love of dance and writing, Linda is living her dream by teaching ballet and creating stories, including a children’s book series inspired by her rescue cat, Willow.
Ruby Stewart
Ruby Stewart is a professional dancer, fitness trainer, and ballet teacher based in Los Angeles. She has performed with acclaimed companies including The Realm Company and American Contemporary Ballet. Ruby’s performance work is supported by years of technical training and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Butler University.
Her teaching experience spans early childhood to adults. In addition to her dance background, Ruby has trained and taught in high-energy fitness environments such as The Tracy Anderson Method and BURN Collective, bringing a dynamic and holistic approach to movement. Ruby is passionate about creating empowering spaces where students of all levels feel supported, strong, and inspired to grow through dance.
Bella Alexandra Schaerf OTD, OTR/L
Bella Alexandra Schaerf is a Los Angeles–based occupational therapist and dancer who integrates kinesiology and artistry in her approach to teaching. She earned her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California and currently practices in acute care and acute rehabilitation, with a deep passion for the arts as a healing modality.
Bella began her dance training at age 13 in South Florida and was a member of Encore Dance Theatre’s performance company, performing at high-profile venues including the Miami Dolphins half time show. Her early training included Cindy Grossman, former dancer with American Ballet Theatre and Alvin Ailey, and German Dager, ballet master of Fort Lauderdale Youth Ballet.
She continued her dance studies at the University of Florida, earning a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a minor in dance and a Dance in Medicine certificate. At UF, she studied ballet, modern, and dance composition with distinguished faculty including Dante Puleio, Artistic Director of the José Limón Dance Company, while also teaching ballet to the campus community and facilitated dance workshops for children with developmental disabilities. Bella creates a supportive and inclusive class environment which encourages students to harness the power of dance and self expression.
Elise Arcuri
Elise Arcuri began dancing at the age of 3 with Festival Ballet in Santa Barbara, where she developed a strong foundation in classical ballet. After graduating high school Elise moved cross country to attend the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music. As a ballet major, she performed in full-length productions including La Bayadère, Swan Lake, Giselle, and Coppélia. In 2025, Elise graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet.
Additionally, Elise has trained with companies including Cincinnati Ballet, Joffrey Ballet Chicago, and Oklahoma City Ballet, gaining experience in a wide range of classical and contemporary styles. Through these experiences, she deepened her passion for both performance and education, and is excited to share her knowledge and love of ballet with aspiring dancers through teaching!
Maggie Gulitashvili
Maggie Gulitashvili, originally from Tbilisi, Georgia, began her ballet training at the Vakhtang Chabukiani Choreographic School, where she studied the Vaganova method under the guidance of Larisa Chkhikvishvili with artistic direction by Nina Ananiashvili. During her time at the academy, she had the opportunity to train internationally, including a month of intensive training in Tokyo, Japan. She also competed in an international ballet competition in Italy, placing in the top ten, and won first place in a group performance of the traditional Georgian dance Gandagana performed en pointe.
After graduating, Maggie joined the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre, where she performed in full-length classical ballets including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, La Bayadère, and Don Quixote, as well as contemporary works.
After moving to Los Angeles, Maggie continued her professional career dancing with Hollywood Ballet Company and working as a freelance dancer in various performances and productions. She now continues to pursue her ballet career while sharing her passion for dance through teaching and performance.
Lauren Santia
Lauren is a Los Angeles–born dancer who has been doing ballet since the age of three. She primarily studied at the Los Angeles Ballet Academy and later on continued her training at Houston Ballet and Joffrey Ballet Chicago.
She holds a BFA in Ballet and a BA in Advertising & Public Relations from Point Park University. Trained in both RAD and Russian techniques, Lauren wants to teach students how to dance with artistry, musicality, and expression!
